J. D. M'CRACKEN, BASKET STAR, IS DEAD AT 46
Denver, Jan 5 (AP) - Jack D. McCracken, 46, picked five times on national amateur athletic union all star basketball teams, died early today.
He was found dead in bed at his home in suburban Lakewood by his wife, Charlotte. Altho (sic) he remained active, he had never fully recovered from two heart attacks a year ago.
In November he and a former teammate, Robert [Ace] Gruenig, were named to the Helms foundation A. A. U. basketball hall of fame.
He played on three A. A. U. championship teams, and served as player-coach for the Phillips Oilers in 1943 when the Oklahoma club won the national title.
