Rosa Anna Eft, daughter of George and Anna Marie Eft, was born on Match 6, 1859, on a farm in Nebraska township, Livingston county, where grew into young womanhood. At the age of 19 years, she was married this in this city to John Day. They lived in several places but mostly in Minonk, which they always considered their home. Three children were born: Mrs Mary Hopp, who died on March 16. 1921, at Big Sandy, Mont.; Mrs Minnie Smith, of Flanagan, and George W. Day of Tampico.
This couple became separated and on Sept. 12, 1888, Mrs Day was married in Minonk to Henry Lieder. They resided in this city for several years and then went on the farm east of Minonk where Mrs Lieder was born. There they remained for almost twenty-eight years, coming to Minonk a year ago last December and since residing here. One child was born to them, a son, Earl Lieder, who resides at Chillicothe.
Besides those mentioned there survive the husband and the following four sisters and three brothers: Mrs Frank Templeman, of Atlantic, Iowa; Mrs Henry Andrews, of Pontlac; Otto Boston and Mrs John Fairbanks, of Minonk; Samuel and David Eft, of Heyworth, and Henry Eft, of Minonk. Ten grandchildren survive.
The deceased at the age of 16 years joined the Baptist church at Belle Plain, and while during the intervening years she attended other churches and lived the faith in her humble manner, she never withdrew her membership from the church at Belle Plain.
The deceased lived a life of unobtrusion. Always was her home her chief concern and there she labored, faithfully, happy in so doing, and in her religion she had deep faith and found her solace and her haven of rest in those distressing moments of anguish that come at times to each, mortal soul.
Funeral services will be held at the Lieder home on Saturday afternoon at l:30, and at the First Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev C. W. Donaldson in charge. Burial will take place at the Minonk cemetery.
