FORMER BLAIRITE DIES IN CONVENT
Jeannette Blomquist, Sister Mary of St. John of the Cross, passed away in the convent of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Baltimore, Maryland last Sunday evening. Burial was made in Baltimore Tuesday, June 11.
Born in Blair in August, 1902, Miss Blomquist spent her school years in Blair, graduating in the class of 1920. She taught school in Blair, Tekamah, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Omaha before joining the Order of the Good Shepherd in 1931. She attended Duchesne college and Creighton University in Omaha, continuing her studies in Baltimore.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Blomquist of Rushville, Nebraska; three brothers, Reinhold, Jr. of Omaha, Tom and Joe of Rushville; and five sisters, Mrs. Kenneith Shamburg of Blair; Mrs. C. H. Hoffniar of Rushville, Nebraska; Mrs. Harris Hagerty of St. Maris, Idaho; Mrs. Victor Squire of Grand Island; and Teresa Blomquist of Rushville.
