Veteran of WWII, serving in various training capacities in both Navy flight training and Army Air Force. Attended both UT Knoxville and UT Chattanooga as undergraduate. Awarded Doctor of Optometry Officer and served on staff of various clinics and hospitals including NAS, San Diego, USNH, Charleston, Yokosuka, Japan, Naval School of Aviation Medicine, Pensacola, FL, and USNH, Charleston, SC. Upon retirement from the Navy in 1971, he practiced in Fountain City area until 1992. Member of Tennessee and American Optometric Associations, serving as board member of TOA and President of Tennessee Academy of Optometry. Fellow of both Tennessee and American Academy of Optometry.
