Joyce Esther Clark, age 86, of Eldon, Mo., died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in Jefferson City, Mo.

She was born May 8, 1919, in Linn Creek, Mo., to William O. Esther and Aura (Claiborne) Esther.

She was married February 19, 1943, in Linn Creek, Mo., to Boyd G. Clark. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1985.

She was a graduate of Southwest Missouri State Teachers College (now Missouri State University) in Springfield. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Eldon; PEO Chapter CH of Eldon; Eastern Star of Linn Creek; the Eldon Country Club; and a past member of Evening Euterpean; a Monday sewing club; and many bridge clubs. She will be remembered by her family and many friends for her love of reading, shopping, traveling, playing bridge and for her favorite activity, being with her family and friends.

She leaves a loving family to cherish her memory including her children. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Janet & Bill Gillen, Blue Springs, Mo. and Susan & Randall Jenkins of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son and daughter-in-law: Jim & Kathie Clark, Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren: Mike & Pam Gillen, Glen Allen, Virginia, Steve & Kami Gillen, Lake Zurich, Ill., Matt & Trisha Clark, Hamilton, Ohio, Brad & Audra Jenkins, Denver, Colo., Emily & Devon Lehman, San Antonio, Texas, Tyler & Meghan Jenkins, St. Charles, Mo., Lynne Claiborne Jenkins, Jefferson City, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren:Trevor & Jessica Gillen, Karis Gillen, Jake, Kyle & Lilliah Clark, Braeden Jenkins & Hannah Lehman; sister: Geraldine Schrimsher, Holden, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers: Vincil Esther and Winston Esther.

Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, Mo.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at the Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, Mo., with Rev. Michael W. Gillen & Mr. Steven C. Gillen officiating. Private interment at the Lebanon City Cemetery, Lebanon, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to the Eldon Senior Center.
