Birth: Dec. 19, 1920
Munday
Knox County
Texas, USA
Death: Oct. 24, 1989
San Marcos
Hays County
Texas, USA

He was born to James Alfonso "Fonnie" Reid and Kate O'Neill Abbott Reid on the family farm near the town of Munday, Texas. He met Louise on New Year's eve, through friends on a blind date and they married on Sep 20, 1947. Harvey and Louise brought one child into their world, Linda G. Reid, born 1950 in San Angelo, Texas, where they lived until the mid 50's.

The family lived in the DFW area for many years and then Harvey and Louise moved to Bastrop County, Texas after he retired from 37 years with the Defense Dept. of Federal Civil Service. A kind, loving and gentle man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. A spiritual giant for the Lord who lived as a humble example of walking everyday with his faith and kindness. He defeated death and now lives in Paradise with the Lord and Louise, his wife.

He served in the Navy during WWII on the Marshall Islands and was a Southern Baptist Deacon by denomination. Not afraid to shed a tear for sorrow or joy...he was and still is a giant to those who knew and loved him.
