Daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Whitley. Mattie married Selby Clark about 1907, and together they were the parents of daughter Mary Olene Clark. Selby was accidentally electrocuted in 1913, when daughter Mary was only 18 months old. Mattie then married Hallis Clifton Goff about 1914 - a nephew of her first husband. Together, they were the parents of Clifton Goff, who died at birth in 1914.

Mattie was survived by her daughter Mary, and preceded by her son Clifton and both husbands.
