Died at 7 a.m. Monday, March 21, 1983, at his residence in Walker. He was 68, a native of Walker. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War II. Visiting at Carroll Baptist Church, Walker, from 10 a.m. Tuesday until religious services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Kenny Bankston and the Rev. McCon. Burial in Vickers Cemetery, Walker. Survived by his wife, Edna Williams Covington, Walker; five daughters, Betty Covington and Mrs. Ouida Brister, both of Denham Springs, Mrs. Bonnie Craig and Mrs. Lynn Minton, both of Walker, and Mrs. Barbara Strother, Bridge City, Texas; three sons, Charles and Mike Covington, both of Walker, and Ronnie Covington, St. Francisville; a sister, Mrs. Vivian Cronk, Walker; a brother, Earlo Covington, Denham Springs; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be joe Kelly and Brad Williams, Terry and Cary Covington, Sonny Renninger and Bubba Achord. He was a member of Carroll Baptist Church. Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, in charge of arrangements.
