Beloved husband, father and grandfather. "Dziadziu"

Eddie was born April 25, 1925 and raised in Hartford, the son of Andrew and Janina Jagielski. He was a graduate of SS. Cyril & Methodius School and Bulkeley High School, class of 1942.

Ed was an Army war veteran having served his country at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.

After the war he attended the Guild Hall Music Conservatory in London, England where he studied organ and voice. Upon his return to Hartford he continued his studies under the noted Clarence Waters.

Eddie was known for his beautiful singing voice and was the Organist and Choir Director for many years at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford and organist at Saint Stanislaus Church in Bristol. For almost 30 years he taught music in his studios in Hartford, New Britain, Wallingford, Bristol and Waterbury. He was also a professional musician who played the piano with the Harmony Bells, Polka Bands and Big Bands throughout the Northeast.

Always active in the Polish-American community, he sat on the Board of Directors of the Polish National Home and was a past Chairman of the Miss Polish Home pageant, where he established the tradition of the Coast Guard Academy Cadets serving as escorts for the pageant.

In 1974 he was co-chairman of the Pulaski Memorial Committee, which was responsible for erecting the statue of Gen. Casimir Pulaski which now sits on Pulaski Plaza in downtown Hartford.

Along with Irene, Eddie was very active in state and city politics and was a Justice of the Peace and past delegate to the Republican state convention.

In 1981 he received the Polonia Distinguished Service Award and Proclamation from the Governor for his service.

He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, Post 51 in Hartford.

He retired in 1990 from the State of Connecticut, Dept. of Motor Vehicles. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and spending summers with his family and friends at his summer place in Woodstock, CT.

Besides his wife he was survived by two sons, Edward Jr and Paul; a daughter Karen Jagielski; and four grandchildren, Rachael, Richard, Bobby and Eddie Jagielski.
He also left his dear sister Elizabeth "Betty" Jagielski. He was pre- deceased by his son Andrew "Drew" Jagielski.
