Funeral services were conducted
Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the
Corticelli Baptist Church by the Rev. N.
E. Williams of Dixon for James Monroe
Amos who died at his home April 21,
(1945) at 3 p.m. at the age of 85 years.
Born March 22, 1860, near Millbrook,
Mo., the son of Benjamin and Sarah Roark
Amos, he spent his life farming in Cole and
Morgan Counties, and the last 43 years on
a farm near Corticelli in Moniteau County.
On March 8, 1888, he was married to
Cecelia Ann Ambrose. He was a charter
member of the Corticelli Baptist Church.
Survivng are his aged wife, two sons,
T. C. of Russellville and Ambrose of Des
Moines, Iowa; a sister Mrs. Eliza Fowler
of Jefferson City; four grandchildren and
five great grandchildren. Burial was made
in the Enloe Cemetery with Schubert Fun-
eral service of Russellville in charge.
