17 Jul 2007: Chaplain Bill D. Brown, 81, Cleona, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, in Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Jane M. Capwell Brown with whom he would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this September. Born in Glen Rogers, WV, January 5, 1926, he was the son of the late Ott and Ola McGraw Brown. He was a retired chaplain from Lebanon VA Medical Center with 27 years of service. He also held pastorates in WV and Vestal, NY, with the United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II with the rank of machinist mate second class; a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, received his Master in Divinity from Drew University, and a Masters in Education from Syracuse University. Bill was a member of the West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church, chaplain of the N.E. Region of the Civil Air Patrol, active with American Red Cross; member of Mt. Olivet Lodge, No. 704 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, and Zembo Temple Shrine where he served in the Chaplain Corps, and Lebanon Hermit Commandry. He was also an honorary member of a Mullens Masonic Lodge No. 151 F&AM, WV. Surviving are sons Paul L., husband of Allison Brown of Stephens City, VA, Richard S., husband of Margaret Brown of Huntington, WV, and William D. Brown at home; daughter Patricia L., wife of Gary Gerber of Annville; sister Nancy, wife of Lee Hash of Culpeper, VA; grandchildren Megan Brown, Scott Brown, Jeff Brown, Mike Brown, Lynn Donmoyer, Katie Brown, Marc Donmoyer, Arron Gerber, Kayla Brown, and Emma Brown. Funeral Saturday at Immanual United Methodist Church, Cleona. Interment Monday, July 23, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors.
