Near Rockville, R. I., June 29th, 1872, Samuel Crandall, Sen., in the 92d year of his age. Being at the time of his death probably the oldest man in town, he had also the largest family lineage; his children and their descendants numbering 118. He was a member of the Rockville Church. His funeral was attended on the 30th by a large concourse of people.
