Hazel Thomas Shideler, 91, formerly of rural Camden, died yesterday at the Americana Nursing Home in Kokomo after a 10 year illness.

She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nov. 26, 1886, to Charles and Sarah York Field. She was married in 1909 to Homer Thomas, who died in October of 1960. She was remarried to Charles Shideler, who is deceased.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Logansport.

Surviving are four daughters, Frances Myers of Galveston, Katheryn Langvine and Helen Gillespie, both of Clearwater, Fla., and Maxine Archibald of Lafayette; one sister, Leona Yerken of Tama, Iowa; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One sister is deceased.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Thomas-Murray Funeral Home in Galveston, the Rev. David Fish officiating. Burial will be in the Onward Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
