Graveside services for Jack Lomax, 90, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Patterson, associate pastor of Trinity Church, officiating.
Entombment will be under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, in University Medical Center.
He was born on April 26, 1909, in Johnson County. He grew up in Plainview and learned to fly at an early age. He was a barn stormer.
He joined the United States Marine Corps during the 1930s and was a pilot. He landed on the nation's first aircraft carrier, the USS Lindsay.
He joined the Sea Bees in 1942 and served at Guadalcanal.
He married Jeane Miller on July 10, 1936 in Amarillo. She died in March of 1985.
He started working for Southwestern Public Service in 1948 and retired in 1974 as a sub station supervisor.
Survivors include a great-granddaughter, Anna Blakemore of Lubbock.
