Mrs. Ruth Holtzclaw Duncan, wife of Herman W. Duncan, died yesterday at 2:15 at a local hospital following several weeks of illness.

She was born February 20, 1911 at Belton, South Carolina, a daughter of Mrs. Daisy Holtzclaw Rollins and the late Lemuel Holtzclaw. Most of her life was spent in Greenville and for the past seven years, she has lived at 33 B Street, Poe Mill. Mrs. Duncan was employed in the cloth room at Poe Mill.

She was a member of Morgan Memorial Baptist Church but attended Poe Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Bible Class.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Doris Smith and Miss Shelia Duncan of Greenville; one son, Jimmy N. Duncan of San Francisco, California; mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rollins of Taylors, Route 2; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Black of Greer and Mrs. Floyd Elder of Greenville; three brothers, L. H. Holtzclaw, Jr., of Travelers Rest, Clarence W. Holtzclaw and James M. Holtzclaw, both of Greenville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Poe Baptist church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Raymond Holtzclaw, Clifford Rice, Benny Duncan, William Duncan, Jack Duncan and Thomas Duncan. The honorary escort will be composed of the men and women of the first shift of the cloth room of Poe Manufacturing Company.
