WIREY RITES WEDNESDAY IN EDINBURG
Funeral service for rural Dunkirk resident, Oris Wirey are 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Edinburg United Methodist Church with pastors Richard Gillum and Ray Bozell officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the Wednesday service.
Friends may also call at the Meeks Mortuary in Muncie on Tuesday from 2 until 5 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m.
Mr. Wirey, age 67, died Sunday afternoon of a heart attack in his rural Dunkirk home. He was born in Bartholomew County and came to Muncie in 1927. For 16 years he was employed at the Ball Corporation and in 1948 moved to Dunkirk to farm. He has also been associated with the Miami Valley Dairy Corporation. Mr. Wirey was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church.
Surviving are the wife, Ruth, daughters Mrs. Leah Freeman and Mrs. Reba Meno of Indianpolis; a son Gene W. Wirey of Indianapolis; a step-son Charles Mitchell of Illinois; a sister Mrs. Calvin Wantland of Indianapolis; and brothers Orville Wirey of Speedway, Floyd Wirey of Trafalger, and Marion Wirey of Nevada. Fifteen grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Oris A. Wirey, 67, a former Muncie resident, died Sunday afternoon at his home on RR 2, Dunkirk. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.
A native of Bartholomew County, he came to Muncie in 1927 and was employed for 16 years by Ball Corporation. He moved to Dunkirk in 1948 where he had been engaged in farming. He was also associated with the Miami Valley Dairy Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Leah Freeman and Reba Meno, Indianapolis; one son, Gene, Indianapolis; a step-son, Charles Mitchell, Elk Grove, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Calvin Wantland, Indianapolis; three brothers, Orville of Speedway; Floyd of Trafalgar and Marion of Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at the Edinburg United Methodist Church, near Columbus, with Rev. Richard Gillum and Rev. Ray Bozell officiating. Interment followed in Rest Haven Cemetery.
