Sarah, known as Sallie, was the daughter of Isaac (White Eagle) Zane (1777 1849) & Myeerah Tarhe (1782 ).

Sarah was the 5th child of Isaac Zane, a native of Wheeling, VA who had been taken prisoner by the Indians when he was a young boy. He was held in captivity until he was old enough to marry; he married a beautiful maiden, Myeerah Tarhe, of mixed Wyandotte & French blood.
