Composer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he is best known for his musical score setting of "The Lord's Prayer" performed and recorded by both classical and popular singers. He started his career as an organist, performing at religionist functions in the 1920s. During the 1930s and 1940s, he was a prolific film music composer, writing scores for almost 40 films.
