Professional Football Player. He was tight end receiver for the New York Giants, 1954 to 1958 and a member of the New York Giants' championship teams in 1956 and 1958. In 1959, he played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins, ending his career with a total 79 receptions, 1160 yards and 18 touch downs in six seasons. He has the distinction of being the first player in NFL history at the position of tight end. He died of an apparent heart attack while playing golf.
