Harriet is the daughter of
Abraham ("Abram") Ammerman
(1830-1905),
and his wife Mary Jane Vorhes
(1836-1919).
She was the eldest of
their nine children.

Harriet was married on Aug. 7, 1871
in New Carlisle, St. Joseph Co. Indiana
to George Washington McBain, the son
of Alexander McBain (1806-1883), and
his wife Eliza Roberts (1812-1889).

Records of the Hamilton Methodist
Church show that "Harriet Ammerman"
was "received" on Feb. 1868, and
that "Harriet McBain" was
baptised there on Feb. 4, 1893, and
"received" again on Aug. 6, 1893.

d. March 2, 1941.

b. Dec. 30, 1877 in Indiana.
m. Robert "Bert". Massey (1871-1951),
on Dec. 26, 1903, in South Bend, Indiana.
Children: Vernon Massey and Dale Massey.
d. March 23, 1951, age 72.

4. Mable Dora McBain.
b. Jan. 14, 1881 in Indiana.
m. Arthur Leroy ("Roy") Kizer, the
son of William Kizer and Jesse Ghrist,
June 5, 1909 in South Bend, IN.
They had nine children.
Several children were adopted out,
after Mable Dora passed away.
Children:
Ruth Ellen, Paul Lavern,
Robert Donald, Leona Eleanor,
Jessie Dora, Carole Macelle,
Benard Leroy, Mary Katherine,
and Kenneth K. Kizer.
(Benard Leroy Kizer was adopted
by the Rolfe family and was a
avid genealogist. He did extensive
family research on the Kizer,
Ammerman and McBain families).
d. Nov. 28, 1925 in Buchanan, MI.

m. Ada May Kelley, May 12, 1905.
Children: Helen, Otto, Everett,

Berrien County Michigan.
Buried: Silverbrook Cemetery,
Niles, Berrien County Michigan.

b. Jan. 20, 1889 in New Carlisle,
St. Joseph Co. IN.
m. Clarence Edgar Kelley, June 7, 1907,
in New Carlisle, Indiana.
Children: Roland Kenneth, Donald Edgar,
and Clyde Alva Kelley.
d. May 17, 1978 in New Carlisle, IN.
Buried: New Carlisle Cemetery.

7. Hannah Ann McBain
(known as "Anna").
b. May 19, 1892, in Indiana.
m. James Gordon Landis
(June 18, 1894 - June, 1975),
on Sept. 19, 1914, in South Bend,
St. Joseph Co. IN. James is the son of
Manasseh William Landis (1868-1942), and
his wife Effie O'Dell Isenberg (1872-1946)
(who are buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery,
in Huntington, Indiana).
Children of Hannah and James G. Landis are:
(1.) Daryle Clifford Landis (1915-1917).
(2.) Berniece (Landis) O'Dell Thompson
(1917-1992) died in Fort Wayne, IN,
and is buried with her husband
George Arthur Thompson (1912-1968),
in the New Carlisle Cemetery.
(3.) Jean Maxwell Landis (1918-1919).
(4.) Myla June (Landis) Snider (she married
Rev. Theodore William Snider (1929-1992),
and he is buried in St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, in Granger, Indiana.
(5.) Marjorie Louise (Landis) Kitt
(1927-2009). She married Richard Dean Kitt.
She died in Hamilton Grove (retirement
Community), in New Carlisle, IN,
and she is buried in Greenlawn Memorial
Park, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
[James Landis died in Allen Co. IN in 1975].
Hannah lived in New Carlisle, Indiana
in 1978 (per her sister's obituary).
d. 1981, at Hamilton Grove (New Carlisle, IN).
Buried: With her husband,
in the Greenlawn Memorial Park,
in Fort Wayne, Allen County Indiana.
(James G. and Hannah Landis are buried
in the Mausoleum Building # 3).

8. Lawrence Abram Kenneth McBain.
b. July 8, 1897.
d. 1966.
Buried: Hamilton Church cemetery.

After Harriet died in 1905, her
husband George Washington McBain
was remarried in 1908 to
Mrs. Isadora N. (Kizer) Upham, the
former wife of Theodore Albert Upham.
Isadora was the daughter of
James Kizer Sr. and his wife
Mary Catherine Ammerman.
Note: Isadora was Harriet's cousin.

George Washington McBain in the
Hamilton Church Cemetery, next to the
(historic) Hamilton Church, in Olive
Township, in Hamilton, St. Joseph
County Indiana.

Eliza Ann "Amerman" (with two "m's").
