Zella Maxine McCoy Ramsey, 87, the second of 14 children of William Harvey McCoy and Nancy Isabell Ramsey McCoy, was born Jan. 26, 1916, at Old Success. She died Dec. 4, 2003, at Licking Park Manor at Licking.
She married Charlie Monroe Ramsey Aug. 31, 1937, at Hardy, Ark. They had four children.
She accepted the Lord at a young age, was baptized in the Big Piney River and attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church at Licking as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1957; a stillborn daughter, Jane, in 1950; a son, Clarence, in 1993; her parents, one brother, seven sisters and a grandson.
Surviving are a son, Ben A., who is a resident at Licking Park Manor; a daughter, June Ramsey Barton of Rolla; one brother, George McCoy of Success; four sisters, Mary Garrett, Virginia McKee and Lena Ward of Success and Lucinda Hudson of Springfield; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 6 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Jett officiating. Burial was in the Old Success Cemetery.
