Mrs. Bertie Lee Arnold, age 78, of 203 Kincheloe Rd. Church Hill went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 5,2007 at the home of her daughter Janet Derrick after a extended illness. Mrs. Arnold was a life long resident of Hawkins County and was a member of the McPheeters Bend Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Will & Nannie Hutson, brothers, Ray Hutson and Clinton Hutson.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years J.S. Arnold of the home. Two sons, James S. "Punkin" Arnold of the home, Gerald D. Arnold of Church Hill. Two daughters, Linda Goad of Church Hill, Janet & F.D. Derrick of Rogersville. Four grandsons, Brian Goad, Andy Derrick, Jason & Debra Derrick and Aaron Derrick. One great grandson, Travis Goad. Special sisters, Mary B Arnold and husband Carl Arnold, Jr. of Church Hill, Sally McDowell of Church Hill. Special niece Sondra Summey and several other nieces,nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Roberts and Rev. Ronnie Grimes officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday at the McPheeters Bend Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Goad, Andy Derrick, Jason Derrick, Aaron Derrick, Michael Gilbert and Rick Arnold.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Arnold, Alvis Arnold, Zackery Arnold, Jon Summey, Mack Kincheloe and Randy Arnold.
