He was first married to Annie E. Bean. They wed Aug. 20, 1862 in Sandwich, NH. She died in 1865.
He then married Emily R. Hobson. They wed in Portsmouth, NH, on Sept. 12, 1866.

Rev. George W. HOWE, son of Deacon Lorenzo G. and Dorcas (Mallon) Howe, was born at Lowell, MA. Jan. 5, 1833. He embraced religion in 1851, completed preparation for college at New Hampton NH, in 1855, and graduated at Bowdoin College in 1859. Three years later, 1862, he graduated from Andover Theological Seminary. Nov. 12, 1863, he was ordained by the Cumberland Q.M., Maine. He was was pastor of the West Buxton church three years, and other pastorates in Maine. He baptized sixty converts. During the last eight years (1888) he has been principal of the Colburn Grammar School, Lowell, Mass. He is a member of the executive committee of the Education Society, and was for a time agent of the Maine State Home Mission Society. He was superintendent of schools in Buxton, ME.
He married Annie E. Bean, Aug. 20, 1862, and Sept. 12, 1866, Emily R. Hobson. He has one child, William B. Howe, a graduate of Harvard College.
