Son of Charles Wilson LeClear and Laura Susan DeForest LeClear. Floyd LeClear and Nettie Miller had nine children. They met while both were working at the Battle Creek Sanitarium started by K. W. Kellogg of cereal fame. Children Laura and Archie were able to attend a summer camp sponsored by Kellogg, specifically for poor children. They were married in Battle Creek, Calhoun, MI. In 1941 he married Erma Barnum. recorded as Emma F Scott, in 1942 - they had no children. Floyd was a builder and could build anything including big barns and houses. No carpentry project was too hard for him. According to his son, Archie LeClear, he tried farming as Erma, a widow twice before, had an extensive farm, but could make more money as a carpenter. Floyd died of a heart attack.

Children were Lillian Pearl, Leroy, Laura Rose LeClear Stevens, Ruby, Ester, Archie LeClear, Clyde LeClear, Ruth and Beulah.
