Clarence B. Smith, aged 90, of 157 Maple St., Delton, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday evening in Grand Rapids. Mr. Smith was born July 9, 1898 in Barry County and he had lived at the Delton address since 1978 and had previously lived in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area following his retirement in the early 1960's. He was an automobile dealer in the Grand Rapids area for many years. He was married to Lydia Wunderlich, May 1, 1920 and she preceded him in death June 22, 1976. Surviving are one son, Robert W. Smith of Traverse City; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Chamberlain of Delton; one brother, Forrest Smith of Battle Creek. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Delton. Interment East Hickory Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bernard Historical Society (envelopes available at the funeral home).

Clarence B. Smith, 90, of 157 Maple Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, in the Grand Rapids Veteran's Administration Facility. He had been ill for a year.

He was born in Schultz, Barry County, and had lived in Delton since 1978. He previously lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. after retiring in the early 1960s. He was a Grand Rapids area auto dealer for many years. He attended Faith United Methodist Church in Delton and was a member of the Bernard Historical Society of Delton.

Surviving are a son, Robert W. Smith of Traverse City; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Chamberlain of Delton; and a brother, Forrest Smith of Battle Creek.

His wife, the former Lydia Wunderlich, died in 1976.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to the Bernard Historical Society.
