HERMAN LADY KILLED IN CAR-TRAIN CRASH WEDNESDAY

A Washington County woman was killed in a car-train collision early Wednesday morning near Winslow.

Mrs. Eileen Mengedoht, 19 years of age, was driving alone in a car when it was struck by a Chicago, Burlington and Quincy train about one block west of Highway 77.

The State Patrol reported that the collision occurred about 12:45 a.m. The car was carried about 115 feet down the railroad right-of-way. Her body was found beneath the demolished auto.

The car was eastbound and the train was traveling in a south-easterly direction at about 48-50 miles an hour, it was reported.

Mrs. Mengedoht's husband, Victor, was following in another auto.

The Mengedohts live west of Herman, Nebraska.

Mrs. Mengdoht was born September 28, 1943 at Fremont. She attended school at Hooper and graduated from Bergen Central High School in Fremont, in 1961.

She is survived by her husband Victor; one son, Ricky Lee; one daughter, Vicky Lynn; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Poyar; a brother, Kenneth and a sister, Janice, all of Fremont.
