Professional Football Player. He was a running back for five seasons (1949 to 1951, 1954 to 1955) in the National Football League, with the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles. He was named two-times to the Pro Bowl (1951, 1954) and enjoyed his most successful season in 1951, when he had 208 rushes for 951 yards and led the NFL with 9 touchdowns. During his college days at Texas A&M, Goode was a standout player who set numerous team records. In 59 career NFL games, Goode had 596 rushes, for 2,531 yards, with 16 touchdowns and 53 receptions, for 640 yards, with 1 touchdown. He died of complications from liver disease. (bio by: C.S.)
