Orval Dean Fleischman, 88

Orval Dean Fleischman was born to AJ and Mabel (Kunz) Fleischman on December 29, 1930 at home in rural Palmyra, Nebraska.

Orval and his family moved north of Tekamah, Nebraska, when he was just three years old. He went to county school near Tekamah and graduated high school in 1949 from Tekamah High.

On February 4, 1974, he married Helen Maye (Dill) Georgeson at the Tekamah First Baptist Church, where they were both members. They lived west of Tekamah, at the home farm where he and his brother Morris farmed, until Orval retired in 2006 and they moved into town.

He was also a member of the Odd Fellows and was “quite the bowler” in his day.

In the early 2000's, Orval drove cars for Woodhouse Chrysler/Ford in Blair, Nebraska, delivering cars to customers and picking cars up for service, all over Nebraska and Iowa.

Orval D. Fleischman, 88 years, of Tekamah, Nebraska, passed away September 11, 2019 at Carter Place Assisted Living Community in Blair, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Left to honor his memory are his wife: Helen of Blair; four step-daughters: Gaye (Roger) Kubicek, Dianna (Steve) Coleman, Noella (Richard) Schulte, Norma (Kevin) Jones; eight step-grandchildren: Heather (Tim) Norris, Heidi (Brent) Robinson, Jason (Brooke) Kubicek, Kristen Schulte (Todd Voight), Christopher (Carrie) Jones, Rachel (Aaron) Bakker, Rita (Derek) Gray, Holly Jones; 15 step-great grandchildren: Abbie, Lillie, Jack & Maggie Norris, Chase, Drake & Cole Robinson, Elizabeth, Owen, Eli & Miles Kubicek, Madilyn & Elizabeth Gray, Koen Das, Riley Roth-Schmidt; Brother: Morris (Bonnie); Sister-in-laws: Lucille & Dorothy; many nieces, nephews and Fleischman Family.

Memorial Visitation 3-5 pm Sunday, September 15, Pelan Funeral Services, 1103 J Street, Tekamah, with family receiving friends. Memorial Service 10 am Monday, Sept. 16, First Baptist Church, 12th & K Streets, Tekamah, NE. Burial Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah, NE. The family requests that memorials in his name be given to First Baptist Church, Tekamah.
