The death of Charlie A. Stone, 84, occurred at 5 p.m. Monday in his home at Dora. Mr. Stone had been ill two weeks.
He was born Aug. 28, 1871 in Lincolnville, the son of Nelson and Euretta (Hutton) Stone. His marriage Oct. 7, 1903 was to Nellie Florence Williamson who died in 1927.
The decedent, a lifetime resident of the county, was affiliated with the Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Nelson, Lagro RR1; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Whitcraft, Lincolnville; and four grandchildren.
Two brothers, Thomas Edgar (1869-1920) and George W. (1874-1930) preceded him in death.
The body was taken to the Eddingfield Mortuary where friends may begin calling after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Earnest Cobb officiating. Burial will be in Monument City cemetery.
