Mamie was born to John Ludwig and Pauline (Rehder) Gonnerman on July 2, 1912, in Sac County, Iowa.
She was baptized and confirmed from the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, Iowa and attended high school in Odebolt, Iowa.
On April 4, 1931, she was united in marriage to Freeman Robert (Bob) Harman.
To this union were born eight children:
Delsie Vera and Dr. Fred E. Marienau of Sandpoint, ID
Dr. John Robert and Arta Harman of Corydon, IA
Dr. Larry Lee and Virginia Harman of Kingsley, IA
Sharon Irene and Donald Farrow of Medina, OH
Gordon Ray and Rose Mary Harman of Sac City, IA
Thomas Allen and Dee Harman of Sac City, IA
Pauline Kay and Charles Wilson of Carlisle, IA
Kirk Charles and Rebecca Harman of Washington, IA
Mamie was also blessed with 26 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mamie and Bob farmed in the Sac City area for all their married life and were charter members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed housekeeping, gardening, baking and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter, Sharon; three sisters, Tillie, Helena and Vera; and three brothers, Elmer, Louis and Carl.
She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral service for Mamie M. Harman is Thursday, December 4, 2003, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sac City, with Pastor Mark Selby officiating. Burial will be at Cory Grove Cemetery in Sac City. Arrangements by Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.
