Birth: Oct. 8, 1861
Dryden
Lapeer County
Michigan, USA
Death: Dec. 23, 1927
Beaverton
Gladwin County
Michigan, USA

Elzada Harris was born Oct. 8, 1861, in Dayden township, Lapeer county, Mich., and departed this life Dec. 23, 1927, being 66 years, 2 months and 15 days of age. She moved to Edenville township, Midland county, with her parents at the age of four years, being among the early settlers of that township. She was married to Enoch Glidden Sept. 6, 1883, moving to Gladwin county in the spring of 1884 and has since been a resident of this county. To this union were born five children: Clarence Hartwell Glidden of Tobacco township, Gladwin county; Waldo Avery Glidden of Flint; Charles Comstock Glidden of Bay City; one daughter, Winnie Glidden, who died at the age of 10 months; Harvey Knox Glidden of Chicago, Ill.

She was a devoted Christian, having been a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church for about 40 years. She has been a patient suffering for the last four years of sugar diabetes. She was willing to go and was listening for the final summons of the faith that she will meet her Saviour in the morning of the first resurrection, and will be able to say, "This is my Saviour, I have waited for Him." It can well be said she was a true wife who loved her home and family, always mindful of good counsel to her boys, and was loved most by those who knew her best. She leaves to mourn her husband, four sons, two sisters, three brothers and a host of friends.

"HER MOTTO"

"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. "
