I believe his tombstone to be in error for the year of his birth. He definitely was not born 1866, believe it to be 1868.

Obituary
Samuel S. Whitaker rites set Saturday
Funeral services for Samuel S. Whitaker, 89 years old, will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in Boxwell Brothers Chapel.
Dr. A. D. Foreman, Jr. pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Whitaker died yesterday morning as a result of injuries suffered in a fall New Year's Day. He was a retired painting contractor and had made his home with a son, E W Whitaker, 205 Carolina, the past 10 years.

Pallbearers will be Paul Gaither, Bob Jackon, Jack Rogers, Neil Singleton, Jack Bell and Dutch Osenbaugh.

Surviving relatives, besides the son with whom he lived, include two sons, K W Whitaker and Al Whitaker; two daughters, Mrs Daisy Zeh, Kansas City, and Mrs. Kathrine Feeler, Des Moines, Ia.
