Miss Gertrude Brunton died at the home of her father, Z. T. Brunton, at about 7 o’clock Monday morning, following an illness of some seven weeks with heart trouble and dropsy. She suffered greatly during the last week or so of her illness, but bore it with great patience and fortitude. She was conscious up to the last moment almost, and knew every member of the family present. The funeral service was held at the Christian church at 2 o’clock this afternoon, Rev. L. H. Camp officiating. She had been a member of this church for the past twenty five years. She was born in this county May 11, 1877, so was almost 48 years of age. She is survived by her father, four sisters, Mrs. J. T. Allen, Miss Vanola Brunton and Mrs. Elisworth I. Gustin of Blair, and Mrs. Raymond McConnell of Tenino, Wiash. Also six brothers, Warren of this city, Arthur of Centralia, Wash., Rufus of Kelso, Wash., Palmer of Schenectady, N. Y., Clarkson of San Francisco, Calif., and William of Craig, Neb. Palmer and William are the only ones of the others from a distance who were able to be here for the funeral service.
