Wilma Lorine Higbee Kemp, 97, of Santa Clara, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007. She was born Oct. 29, 1909, in Toquerville, Utah, to Edwin R. and Eva Geary Page Higbee. She married her sweetheart William Arthur Kemp June 28, 1929, in the St. George, Utah, LDS Temple. Wilma attended schools in Toquerville, Hurricane, and St. George, where she was very active in drama and sports. After her marriage, she lived in St. George until 1954 when her family moved to Las Vegas. They resided there until Arthur's retirement in 1974 when they moved to Santa Clara, Utah. She is survived by her family including her children: Gwendolyn and Victor Frei, Santa Clara, Utah, Carol and Fenton Tobler, Las Vegas, Karma and Jack Wasden, St. George, Utah, Ellen and Gary Cameron, Logandale; and son-in-law, Richard Bowler, Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Gloria Bowler; and grandson, Glenn Bowler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Santa Clara 1st Ward meetinghouse, 3040 W. Santa Clara Drive. Visitations will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, and again Thursday, from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will take place in the St. George City Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary.
