| Birth: | unknown | | Death: | unknown |  The Springfield Home of the Friendless was founded in 1863 by special act of the Illinois legislature. This orphanage, with accommodations for 200 children, cared for thousands of homeless & needy children over the next many years, including dozens of children orphaned or displaced by the Civil War. In this lot are buried 643 children who died in the home between 1863 & 1904.
