Roy was born on August 22, 1910, at Craig, Nebraska, to Henry A. and Myrtle (Crawford) Hull.

Roy attended the Crawford coutry school through the tenth grade and graduated from Tekamah, Nebraska High School as valedictorian of his class in 1928.

He then attended Wayne State College for two years.

As a young man, Roy was stricken with polio and although he suffered paralysis of his hands and legs, he overcame his handicap and engaged in farming in Burt County, Nebraska.

Roy was united in marriage to Merna Blanche Teeters on September 9, 1933, and they were blessed with four children.

Sadly, Merna died on June 14, 1972.

On July 19, 1973, Roy married Carrie Wymer Rees at Elk Point, South Dakota.

Roy served on the Burt County Election Board for many years and was also Secretary of the District No. 72 School Board in Burt County.

Roy was a member of the United Methodist Church at Tekamah for over 50 years, and had received a 50-year pin in recognition.

Roy Ronald Hull, age 77, lifelong Tekamah resident, died Thursday evening, April 28, 1988, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair after a lengthy illness.

Left to honor his memory are his wife, Carrie Hull of Tekamah; four children: Merna Ruth (Mrs. Dale) Hansen of Herman, Nebraska; Allen W. Hull (and his wife, Peggy) of Fort Lupton, Colorado; David R. Hull (and his wife, Linda) of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska; and Gloria (Mrs. Jim) Maxwell of Onawa, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, ten step-children, 36 step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Ross and Herb Hull), wife (Merna B. Hull), and one grandson (Steven Lee Hansen).

Funeral services were held April 30, 1988, at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.
