Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Lyman Cemetery, with David Queen officiating.
A native of Cullowhee, she was born Aug. 11, 1932, to the late Herbert and Nora Queen Young. She lived in North Carolina until moving to the Hamilton area in 1952. She worked as a field worker for Negatani and Sakuma's for several years, and enjoyed gardening and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Queen, who died in 1967; one son, Alfred Queen; one daughter, Patty Brooks; two sisters, Lois Connor Allen and Lorena Young; and three brothers, Dillard Young, Willard Young and Edgar Young.
Surviving are one son, Bruce Queen of Sedro-Woolley; four brothers, Woodrow Young of Lyman, Wash., Walter Young of Sylva, Hayes Young of Lancaster, S.C., and Jack Young of Kershaw, S.C.; three sisters, Ruby Melton of Sylva and Edna Coggins and Gladys Webb, both of Cullowhee; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
