Military Figure. Albert "Red" Ettinger was one of the youngest (17 years old) National Guardsman to serve with "The Fighting 69th" in the First World War. At first he was a Motorcycle Dispatch Rider, then a member of a Stokes Mortar Company. In the 1950's he organized the Sarasota County Veterans Commission in Florida. In 1966 he started "Project Vietnam" with his wife Ardel. This organization sent care packages to troops in Vietnam that contained everything from tape and WD-40 to Beef Jerky, bubble gum and razor blades. He was given a citation from the Freedom Society for his work with "Project Vietnam" He was Co-Author with his son A.
