AVA VERNIECE WOODING SHUFFIELD of Georgetown, TX, formerly of Houston, TX. passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ June 10, 2007 at the age of 92 years 6 months and 19 days.

Ava was born November 22, 1914 in Katy, TX to Clarence and Annie Foust Wooding. After graduating from Katy School she married the love of her life, Alcy Taylor Shuffield on June 12, 1933.
.
From this blissful union they had four children; three daughters and one son, all born and raised in Houston, TX.
.
Ava was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Annie Wooding, her beloved husband of 59 years, Alcy Shuffield, daughter, Shirley Faye Brown, sister Bertha Mae Polk and brother Orval Wooding.
.
She lived in Houston, TX until 1994 where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Spring Branch. Then she moved to Georgetown and joined Main Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are daughter Ava Mae Sanders and husband Arthur Lee Sanders of Llano, TX, Betty Gardner of Richland Springs, TX; son A.T. Shuffield of Gause, TX; daughter-in-law Virginia Shuffield of Cameron, TX; sisters Frieda Henderson of Houston, TX, Tillie Thurman of Angleton, TX, Francis Koch of Sabetha, Kansas; brother Howard (Sonny) Wooding of Mesa, AZ; 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
