Nick Ramus

Actor. Real name Nickolas G. Ramus. He is best remembered for his role as Gus Nunouz on the television series "Falcon Crest" from 1981 to 1982. He also had a recurring role as Black Kettle in several episodes of the popular western television series, "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman", from 1993 to 1997. Born of Blackfeet heritage in Seattle, Ramus was mainly noted for his roles as Native American Indian chiefs and warriors. A graduate of the Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, he received his B.A. with a major in chemistry and a minor in zoology. He began his entertainment career playing the banjo with a friend, and performing as a folk singing duo around local nightspots before turning to acting. He eventually began taking voice lessons and went onto appear in several films and television series in a career that spanned well over 30 years. His other credits include the films, "Black Eye" (1974), "I Will Fight No More Forever" (1975), "The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again" (1979), "Windwalker" (1980), "The Legend Of Walks Far Woman" (1982), "The Mystic Warrior" (1984), "Invasion U.S. A. (1985), "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" (1986), "Love At Stake" (1988), "Geronimo" (1993), "The Treasure Of Painted Forest" (2006), and his last film, "Alma" (2007). On television, he appeared in, "Gunsmoke", "Little House On The Prairie" (as Little Feather), "The Chisholms", "Capitol", "MacGyver", and "Walker, Texas Ranger." He died in Benton, Arizona. (bio by: K)
