MCKENZIE, Hershel
1918-2001 Hershel McKenzie, 82, of Ashland, died Thursday Aug.09 2001 in King's Daughters Medical Center. Mr. McKenzie was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Paintsville, a son of the late Hallick and Nola Lemaster McKenzie. He was retired from the masonry department of Armco Steel, and a member of Hoods Creek Enterprise Baptist and United Steelworkers Local 1865. Surviving are his wife, Anna Lee Blanton McKenzie; two sons, Ben McKenzie and Danny McKenzie, both of Ashland; two daughters, Janice McKenzie Whitt of Ashland and Nola McKenzie Miller of Flatwoods; four brothers, Bob McKenzie of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Paul McKenzie of Springfield, Ohio, and David McKenzie and Michael McKenzie, both of Volga; a sister, Helen Bolen of Charleston, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Powell Collins and Jack Salyers. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
