YORK June R. Englert, 82, of Spring Garden Twp., died Friday, June 8, 2007, at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Glenn F. Englert, Sr. June was born on August 7, 1924, in York, a daughter of the late Gustaf and Esther V. (Stambaugh) Edman. She had worked at Jack's, then at McCrory's in town. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and its Super Senior's Club. June was a 1943 graduate of William Penn Senior High, a member and former secretary of the Half Century Club of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, AARP, American Bible Society, Jacobs Brothers Pillars, Jerry Falwell Old Time Gospel Hour, Concerned Women of America, York Rescue Mission Salvation Army, and Christian Coalition. She was a supporter of Little People and a member of a big band dancing club of the Valencia Ballroom. June was an avid sender of cards for encouragement and birthdays. June is survived by a son, Glenn F. Englert, Jr. and his wife, Linda of York; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin E. Edman of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister, Helen M. Hargett of Paradise Valley, Ariz. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jayne M. Englert. The viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
