Amantina G. Simer July 22, 1927 - May 31, 2007.
Tina passed away after a brief illness on May 31, 2007 surrounded by her family. She was born July 22, 2007 in San Francisco, graduated from NDV High School, class of '45 and The Munson School of Business, class of '46. A lifetime resident of San Francisco, Tina married her sweetheart Jack in 1948. Together they raised five children in their Sunset District home. Cathy Lunn, John Simer (Deceased) Mary McKay (Steve) Brian Simer (Cheryl) and Carole Simer. Tina spent many years as a volunteer at St. Gabriel School, assisting students as a teacher's aide and serving in several roles for the Mother's Guild. She continued to serve as a volunteer at St. Gabriel Church until recently. She formed so many lifelong friendships with parishioners of the St. Gabriel Parish. After her children graduated from high school, Tina directed her time and energy back into the work force as a secretary at Georgina Acosta Skin Care, a prestigious salon located in San Francisco. Tina spent 20 years with Georgina and developed many lasting relationships. But of all her relationships, she cherished the relationship with her husband, whom she was married to for 41 years and their five children. She shared a very special relationship with her grandchildren, Nycole Baxter (Michael), John Lunn, (Marina) Michael, Heather and Trevor Simer, Brendan & Megan McKay and Natasha Noriega. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Urrea and Angee Hunt, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack and son John.
Our mother's faith was unrelenting and that faith was her greatest gift to us all. Visitation will begin at 3pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Duggan Serra Mortuary, located at 500 Westlake Avenue in Daly City. A vigil and Rosary will follow at 7:00pm. A Funeral celebration will be held 11:00am, Wednesday June 6, 2007 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church located at 2559-40th Avenue. Donations may be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church located at 2559-40th Avenue, 415-731-6161,The American Stroke Association or MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers).
