Ann was a twelve year old passenger aboard the Mormon emigrant Ship Brooklyn. On October 29, 1850 at age sixteen she married Eustaquio Valencia. He was the grandson of Don Jose Sanchez who was the owner of the Burra Burra Rancho which covered the hills from South San Francisco to Millbrae. The Valencia's had come to San Francisco with the DeAnza Party to build the Presidio. Valencia Street in San Francisco is named after his father Gen. Jose Candalerio Valencia who was married to Paula Rodriga Leandra Sanchez.
Ann died at age 25 in San Francisco, leaving 4 children, 2 survived to adulthood. They are Lydia Ensign Valencia (Hardy) and Henry Lucius Valencia. They came to Utah to live with their Aunt Clarissa. Ann Frances Moses Valencia was the first non-Catholic buried in the Mission Dolores.
