•Note:
Henry Claiborne was the first known male child born in Terrebonne Parish.The caskets and remains of Henry Claiborne Thibodaux and his wife Mathilde Toups Thibodaux were removed from what was left of Henry's fathers tomb and buried in an unmarked area in the back of St. Bridget's cemetery.No marker was placed for fear that they would again be disturbed by would be robbers looking for Jewels believed to have been in Henry's fathers tomb.The information on the removal of bodies from the tomb was obtained thru the newspaper articles in the Lafourche Parish Library.
Henry,his wife and daughter Amelie were listed as living in the home of his mother during the 1840 Census-

Amelie Thibodeaux,female,age 0-5,b.July 5,1840 Lafourche, d/o Henry C.& Marie Mathilde Toups.

Henry and Mathilda lived in dwelling #43 for the 1850 Terrebonne Parish, La. Census. He worked as a farmer and owned 3500. of real estate property. He and Mathilda both can read and write. Living with them were five children: Amelie, age 10;Emile, age 8;Brigite,age 6;Beaty,age 4 and Bellenger,age 5 months.Also in residence were Dr. Henry Greenburg, age 32, a music teacher who would marry within the year and Emee Thibodaux,age 21 (Marie Emee Toups m. Francois Voltaire Thibodeaux) Emee is the d/o Terence Thibodaux and Caroline Bourgeois.They lived along Bayou Terrebonne.

*Marie Emee Toups d/o Terence Thibodaux and Caroline Bourgeois married Francois Voltaire Thibodeaux s/o Henri's brother Henry Michel THIBODEAUX and his wife Marie Rosalie HYMEL.

I believe that the bodies of Henry Claiborne and his wife were reburied in 1878, hence the tombstone inscriptions.

Henry Claiborne must have died before his estate was listed for inventory in 1855.
