DIES IN NEW YORK

The body of Walter Layton Barlow, 37, will arrive Sunday from New York City, by plane, according to word received today by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Walter Barlow of Bountiful. He had been in New York for three months receiving medical treatment.

Born in Bountiful, May 19, 1910, he attended school in Davis county and later attended the L. D. S. Business college in Salt Lake City.

Until 1940, when he moved to Salt Lake City, he was an active member in the Bountiful first ward where he was a counselor in the elders quorum and also served as Sunday school superintendent. He spent two years in the British Isles where he was a missionary for the Latter-day Saint church.

On May 11, 1932, he married Mildred Brown of Layton in the Salt Lake temple.

He served in the U. S. army for seven months during World War II, and was released because of ill health.

Prior to his death he was ward clerk in the Douglas ward in the Bonneville stake.

A prominent business man in Salt Lake City, he was a member of the Salt Lake Realtors association and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving besides his wife, are his parents, W. Walter and Olive Layton Barlow, a daughter and a son, Joyce and Douglas Walter Barlow of Salt Lake City, and four brothers, Charles N. Barlow of Bountiful; William E. Barlow of San Diego; Lloyd J. Barlow of Layton, and LaMar L. Barlow of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be announced later by the Larkin Mortuary of 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City.
