Janet “Jil” Irene Luke Gregory, 68, of Moses Lake went to be with our Lord and Savior on Feb. 5, 2019. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Jil was born on Aug. 1, 1950 in Seattle, Washington to Wayne and Joanne Luke. While she was in grade school, Jil’s family moved to Richland, Washington to plant the Richland Alliance Church. She graduated from Richland (Columbia) High School in 1968 (June 6, 1968) and upon high school graduation attended Simpson Bible College in San Francisco, California. In March 1970 Jil married her high school sweetheart, David Gregory. The newly-married couple started their life together in Sumner, Washington. In the summer of 1971, Jil and Dave moved to Moses Lake, Washington where they spent the next 47 years planting their family roots.
Strong in faith, Jil lived a life of service to others. She became a mother in 1973 and stayed at home with her three children for several years before resuming work outside the home. In Moses Lake, she worked various part-time positions including Marty’s Tots and Teens and J.C. Penny. Starting in 1988, Jil spent the next 28 years serving the community as family medicine receptionist at the Moses Lake Clinic. After retiring in 2015, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in Texas, Oregon, and Washington.
Jil was preceded in death by her father Wayne Luke. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Dave and their three children Nanette (Kory), Janell (Jerry) and Todd (Ciarra). She is also survived by seven grandchildren Sierra, Gavin, Sienna, Garrett, Grace, Aviana and Addison. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Joanne, brother Tim (Kim), sister Elaine, and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
A celebration of Jil’s life will be held at the Moses Lake Alliance Church, 1100 N. Grape Dr., Moses Lake, Washington on March 1, 2019 at 1 p.m.
