Muncie Morning Star, May 26, 1944 Charles Curtis Dead After A Long Illness Charles M. Curtis, 78, died at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home in Reed Station after a long illness. He had resided in Delaware County all his life. He was a member of the Pleasant Run Church and the Reed Station Brotherhood. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Rocenia Curtis; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Smith of Muncie, Mrs. Vernon Fuson and Mrs. Ernest Nauman of near Muncie, and Mrs. George McKinley of near Yorktown; two sons, Harry Curtis and Harold Curtis, of Muncie; twenty-one grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Reed Station Church, the Rev. Noah Losh of Muncie and the Rev. Mrs. Whisler of Farmland in charge. Burial will be in Hawk Cemetery. The body will be removed from the Richman-Prillaman funeral home in Yorktown to the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Vernon Fuson, on the Yorktown-Gaston road, where friends may call after 3 o'clock this afternoon.
