| Birth: | Dec. 2, 1867 Jefferson Marion County Texas, USA | | Death: | Nov. 10, 1922 Honolulu Honolulu County Hawaii, USA |  US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1885 and opened a law practice in Texarkana, Texas in 1886. From 1890 to 1898, he was city attorney and prosecuting attorney of Bowie County, 1898 to 1906. He was district attorney for the fifth judicial district of Texas, 1906 to 1910 and a member of the State senate in 1910. In 1913, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-third Congress, serving until 1915. After his term, President Woodrow Wilson appointed him as United States district attorney at Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1916, he was appointed United States district judge in Hawaii and served until his death. Note: He was interred in Nuuanu Cemetery that is now within Oahu Cemetery.
