Lloyd L. Degges, 96, of Elm Mott, passed away early Thursday morning, May 24, 2007 in Lake Jackson, Texas. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Rev. Jody Gousset officiating. He will lie-in-state noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home.
He was born in McLennan County near Ros, Texas, to the late William Curry and Lizzie (Ferguson) Degges. He attended school in Ross. On September 9, 1939 he was united in marriage to Lou Stoker in Belton. He worked as a foreman for McLennan County Precinct No. 3 for over twenty-two years until his retirement in 1977. He also drove a school bus for the Elm Mott schools for several years. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou, on March 13, 2002; and grandson, Harold Degges.
Survivors include sons, Wade Degges and wife, Lois, of Laguna Park, Ron Degges and wife, Sherry, of Lake Jackson, and Don Degges, of Lexington, South Carolina; daughter, Angela Nicosia and husband, Mike, of Corpus Christi; sister, Edna King, of Lake Jackson; six grandsons; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
